Feasibility and basic design of a new steel plant covering material handling, cooling, utilities and CAPEX, supporting the investment decision on the move to electric arc steelmaking.
Deciding whether to convert an integrated works to the electric arc route is a capital decision made years before any equipment is ordered. It rests almost entirely on engineering studies, and a CAPEX figure that turns out to be optimistic is discovered far too late to correct.
We delivered feasibility and basic design for the new melt shop: material handling, cooling, utilities distribution and cabling, with assembly manuals and technical specifications, and a CAPEX estimate built on that technical basis rather than on a percentage uplift from a comparable plant.
The scope also covered the green steel decarbonisation concept, so the routes were compared on the same footing instead of one being assumed.
An investment case supported by a defined technical scope. The FEED output is the package that later goes to EPC tender and to lender due diligence, which is why closing the grey areas in supply boundaries at this stage protects margin during execution.
If this looks like your plant, the fastest route is a short call with the engineer who did the work.
